KawiGirls Kings & Queens Motocross Wrap-Up
The KawiGirls sponsored Inaugural Kings & Queens motocross took place at Rotorua motocross track on 12 December.
Originally the brainchild of Nick and Penny Lang, Kawasaki, along with 2 times world champ Courtney Duncan were quick to jump onboard as naming right sponsor and support the new initiative. The new event focuses on girls in New Zealand motocross and encourages mini and junior boys to take part in the mixed support classes with all classes eligible for trophies and points.
Thanks to early adopters of the new event, entries were healthy and gates were almost full in some classes. Spectacular racing took place across all classes with the 11-12 years 85 girls and elite women’s classes being fan favourites. As expected, spectators lined the hills to catch the action in the elite womens class with Courtney Duncan choosing last minute to not only attend but also to race. Duncan carved up the competition with surgical precision and proved why she is current world number 1.
The Kawasaki Team Green area played host to over 14 riders with a VIP area for anyone who wished to hangout with the crew.
Kawasaki merchandise was available next to the Team Green pits and doubled as the autograph signing area at lunchtime. Duncan delighted by signing and handing out posters to her fans.
Duncan was joined by fellow KawiGirls Mikayla Rowe, Taylar Rampton, Courtney Clapham and Anna Lawton in the elite women’s class.
